Lampard Feels the Pressure to Win
Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, knows his time at the club is limited following his team’s 2-0 loss to Leicester City at King Power Stadium in Leicester, England.
In an interview after the bruising match on Tuesday night, 19 January, the 42-year-old Blues coach lamented that they are going through a “tough moment” and that he “can’t control” his squad’s fortunes.
He said: “I took the job knowing that there will be difficult times because it is not a club ready to compete.”
The former midfielder explained: “We have had a ban, we have young players, we have new players that we can see are striving for form and to be settled into this team.”
Lampard has been staring down the barrel for a while now, as his squad has consistently displayed poor performances in their last four games, including during their 1-0 win against Fulham last Saturday, 16 January.
Chelsea have won only two of their last eight games, and their latest defeat places them eighth on the English Premier League table – nine points behind current leaders, Leicester City.
